A robot servant

AROR robot

Asimo robot

Perhaps the ideal robot for most ordinary people would be one that would help around the home. Maybe the home robot would be able to carry out a bit of painting and decorating, some gardening, ironing, clean the car . . . and when he has finished all that, perhaps he could pour you a drink. The black and white photograph is undated, but appears to be 1960s or 70s, and I’m not sure how independent the robot is. That face is a bit angry looking behind the helmet. Honda’s Asimo does not have a face, at least not one that we can see. He must have an “eye” somewhere behind the screen to be able to pour accurately.
